has decided to move to a standup method for our spray tanning service to allow you to dry quicker and ensure that your tan remains even with less rub off. This method drastically cuts down on the amount of time it takes for you to receive your spray tan. We recognize that your time is valuable and you may not have an hour and a half to get your tan. With our new method you can be in and out in 30 minutes with a gorgeous bronze color and minimal stickiness.
A Safe Tan?
"Our Skin is an excellent record keeper. Every moment we are exposed to daylight adds up like money in the bank, the problem is the payoff; namely skin damage in the form of wrinkles, hyperpigmentation (age spots) and premature aging, a repressed immune system and the potential for skin cancer. Over one million new cases of skin cancer are diagnosed every year. Even more staggering is the fact that one in five Americans will develop skin cancer, and 90% of these cancers will be the result of exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun. While statistics are not readily available for every country in the world, where we do have information, it appears this is a global phenomenon. For example, the number of reported cases has more than doubled in the past 20 years and over 2,000 people die from skin cancer each year in the
United Kingdom. This globally expansive issue reinforces the belief that the best defense is to limit daylight exposure and protect skin with sunscreen at all times.1"
With that being said, achieving the ever desired "healthy golden glow" doesnt have to cost you these risks. A spray tan is a safe alternative to a sun tan. Our technicians can even contour your spray tan to make you appear thinner or enhance muscle definition!
What Exactly is "Spray Tanning?"
Airbrush Spray Tanning uses a solution with the active ingredient DHA or dihydroxyacetone, a colorless 3-carbon sugar that activates a chemical reaction with the amino acids in the dead surface cells of the skin, or epidermis. A browning, or tanning effect is then produced, much like when the flesh of an apple is exposed to air. DHA does not damage skin - it only affects the outermost cells of the epidermis. DHA carries less health risks than any other method to achieve a tanned appearance without sun exposure. DHA has been approved for sunless tanning by the FDA.
How Quickly Does it Act?
The tanning action usually appears within an hour of application. Maximum darkening may take 8-24 hours to develop. The longer you wait to shower the initial application off, the darker you will get.
How Long Does it Last?
An artificial tan produced by DHA will last until the dead skin cells rub off, usually 5-7 days with a single application. To maximize the length of time your tan lasts you should use an all over body moisturizer 1 to 2 times a day. This will keep the epidermis hydrated and slow the rate your cells fall off. Avoiding daily exfoliating products in the shower will also help to keep your tan intact.

Hyaluronic Acid
:
Dont let the word acid turn you off to "natures moisturizer". Hyaluronic acid (HA) can absorb 1000 times its weight in water and is naturally present in the body in skin, joints and eyes. The level of HA in the body begins to decrease around age 20. HA has been used in lip plumping products, to reduce wrinkles in skin creams and used in injectable form by cosmetic surgeons. It penetrates the skin easily and works from the "inside out". DHA, the sunless tanning ingredient, has a drying effect on the skin. HA can counteract the drying effects of DHA and serve as a potent skin hydrator.

Matrixyl 3000:
Studies have shown that Matrixyl 3000 lifts and firms skin by increasing collagen and elastin production. Collagen production increased almost 350% after two months daily of usage.

Since red dye tends to break down easy, other solutions may change color prematurely into a muddy or green color. Our solution uses pharmaceutical grade caramel and a lower quantity of dyes that will retain its formulated color longer, providing a remarkable, natural color with less rub off than other solutions on the market.

How to Prepare?
When you arrive for your Airbrush Spray Tan you should be freshly showered, exfoliated and shaved and have not used any oils or lotions on your skin
. If you are not able to shower before arriving to your appointment, you may do so at the spa.
Please
arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your appointment. Exfoliating hand mitts or our
Dermalogica Ultimate Buffing Cloth provide optimum even exfoliation.
What to Wear?
You should wear loose fitting, dark clothing to your appointment to minimize any "rub off."The natural caramel coloring of the solution may transfer to your clothing and should wash out, but could stain some fabrics. During your spray tan you can opt to your own bathing suit, our disposable bikinis or go nude if you want to avoid tan lines. All of our service providers are female. We do require that men wear boxers or briefs for their service.
What to Expect?
You will enter our Spray Tan Tent that has an exhaust fan attached to filter out any solution overspray. You will also be provided with a shower cap and nasal filter to minimize over spray inhalation.
We will apply a body cream to all areas that you dont want saturated with color; hands, feet, belly button etc. This skin tends to be drier in these areas and absorbs more of the solution which results in that "fake tan" look. The barrier cream alleviates that.
You will then be sprayed back and front in circular movements by our trained, experienced technicians. This will fell cool and may even tickle a bit. You can opt to upgrade your treatment to a Turbo Tan and add a second coat of solution to your visit. Please see our menu for pricing.
You will then dry under our heated dryer for 5 minutes before dressing.
